If you have read my post on Scotland, and my unplanned “drama” you will see how much I loved Inverness and much of it is thanks to this hotel. The staff go above and beyond! I saw no problem with the bedding, the Scones at breakfast are fantastic! The common room is decorated with photos and postcards and letter from people who have personally thanked Inverness Student Hotel a million times!

On my arrival to the hotel, I was late and worried because I had no plans or bed for the next 2 nights. The staff reassured me everything will be okay and evenutally managed to find me a bed for the next night, plus helped me get a hostel in Edinburgh for my return trip to London. They helped me with activitys to do during the day and pubs to visit at night. These are all typical things you expect in Hotel staff but to be honest I believe the staff go above and beyond and I believe they enjoy helping! The hostel I stayed in at Edinburgh, for example, knew everything there was to do and on a personal level, but their interest in helping you never seemed as keen as at Inverness Student Hotel.

My second night in Inverness was quite a big night! I wasn’t staying at Invernes Student Hotel, but a Hostel next door that ISH (Invernes student hotel) had found for me. The front door had a code as a lock, no key! I smartly placed this code in my phone. After my big night of much whiskey and tequlia my phone died!… (insert dramatic music here) what can I say it happens! I had no way to get into my hostel that night and noone was awake to open the door. I had no common sense about me because obviously I just wasnt in that state.

I made my way back to ISH where a lady on training was working the late shift. She helped me charge my phone which for some reason (lets call it fate) just did not want to charge! They had no beds free that night, hence the reason I was staying in the other hostel but the lady kindly waited with me making me tea and ensuring I was okay until they could confirm one cancelled bed!… Luck was half was strangley on my side that night.

Whilst I have slept in a lot of great hotels and hostels and my fair share of not so great! Inverness is the only one I have ever joined their facebook page and ever (so far) mentioned in a blog. They would be my number one recommendation for Inverness!

In a good locatioin, and clean, resonable price… no complaints!
